It’s springtime — so, open up your windows and clean! Though you don’t have to save all of your heavy-duty cleaning for spring, it’s the perfect season to really clean out the forgotten winter crannies.

Our Go Green Cleaning Experts team has three reasons for you and why you should spring clean this year — and every year.

Winter Mess

It’s actually incredible how much extra stuff, dust, dirt, and grime we accumulate throughout the year, especially in winter when it’s too cold and dark to be motivated. When it’s bright and warm during spring, take the opportunity to clean out everything from winter, even if you don’t think it needs to be cleaned.

Dump everything out of your purse. Use a lint roller to pick up extra bits of dirt, trash, and change at the bottom.

If your TV or computer screens look dingy and dusty, run a new coffee filter across the screen to pick up the dust. While you’re in your living room or office, drag a window squeegee across your carpet if you have one to remove pet hairs.

Clean your ceiling fan blades without adding dust to your furniture by putting a pillowcase over each one, pressing down, and sliding them off.

Go to your kitchen and use a clean toothbrush to scrub the inside of your toaster. If you have a garbage disposal, toss orange and lemon peels into it and grind them up, so fresh, fruity aromas permeate your kitchen.

Good for Your Health!

A green home is clean home — we know that for sure! Spring cleaning will get rid of all the dust and dirt that can cause or exacerbate your allergies. If you use green and organic cleaners like we use, you’re not as likely to get headaches when you clean. Your stress is reduced when you clean too — a healthy home is a healthy mind!

Reorganize

Now that you’ve cleaned everything from top to bottom, and everything in between, try not to fall into the same habits that made your home or office so disorganized during winter. When you put everything back in their drawers, shelves, and counters, organize them first.

Put similar objects together, invest in organizational shelves and drawers, and get rid of anything you don’t use anymore. Clutter can come upon you without warning, so it’s better to have your hard surfaces clearer and cleaner than full of useless appliances.

Remember, less is more. You don’t need all the stuff you clutter your homes and offices with. Your brain will thank you for it, and you’ll be able to effortlessly focus on other tasks.

Don’t forget to ask us for extra spring cleaning details to spruce your home up. It can be hard to hard to reach certain areas like behind beds, closets, and furniture. We can also do an extra deep-clean for all that dust and dirt collected over the fall and summer.
